Manage & edit coupons

Edit coupons inline or in the form, bulk-edit many at once, set per-channel overrides, and understand the checkout errors customers see.

Once a coupon exists, you manage it entirely from the Marketing → Coupons table.

Edit a coupon

  • Inline. Click a cell (Code, Type, Value, Status, dates, targeting) in the table and edit it in place; the change saves on its own.
  • Full form. Open the row's ⋯ → Edit in Form to reopen the whole Create Coupon form in edit mode (the button now reads Save changes). Use this to change targeting, limits, or validity.
  • Bulk. Select several coupons and choose Bulk Edit to set status, validity dates, usage limits, min order / max discount, and whether they can combine with other discounts, across all of them at once. Each field has a No change / Set / Clear control, so you only touch what you mean to.
  • Delete. Select one or more coupons and choose Delete. You'll be asked to confirm; deleting takes effect immediately and can't be undone. To take a coupon out of circulation without deleting its history, set its Status to Disabled instead.

Per-channel overrides (advanced)

If you've synced a coupon to more than one platform app, you can give it a different value on each one, which is useful when a platform needs its own code or a different discount. Shopify and WooCommerce are not sync targets and cannot appear here; they are one-time, read-only import sources inside the Migration Tool.

In the coupons table, click the synced coupon's Sales channels cell to open the per-channel editor, then set an override per platform. Leave a platform blank and it uses the coupon's main value. You can also override the usage limit per platform. Open the Used cell's panel, where each connected platform gets its own limit field (blank = use the global cap).

Two things are not per-platform, despite sitting nearby: Include Products is a single global list for the coupon, and the minimum-order field on a platform tab writes the coupon's global minimum rather than an override.

Overrides only affect the platforms you set; everywhere else uses the coupon's main settings.

Resolving sync conflicts

When you sync a coupon to a connected platform and a coupon with the same code already exists there, Brainerce flags a conflict rather than silently overwriting it. You'll see the conflict count in the coupons table header. (This applies to the platform apps you can actually install. Shopify and WooCommerce are never sync targets, so they never raise a conflict.)

Open the conflict to pick a resolution:

OptionWhat happens
Keep existingThe platform's version is left as-is; the Brainerce coupon is not pushed.
Use incomingBrainerce's version overwrites the platform's existing coupon.
MergeNon-conflicting fields are merged; your Brainerce settings win on the conflicting fields.
Create newThe Brainerce coupon is pushed with a new code (Brainerce appends a suffix to avoid the clash).

If you don't resolve a conflict, the coupon is not synced to that platform until you do, though the coupon still works on Brainerce storefronts.

What customers see at checkout

If the coupon is valid, the cart subtotal updates live and a discount line (for example "Coupon DEMO20 -$20.00") appears in the order summary.

If it isn't valid, the customer sees a specific reason rather than a generic "failed", which helps when a shopper asks you why their code didn't work:

Message the shopper seesWhat it means
Invalid coupon codeThe code doesn't exist (usually a typo), or its Status is Disabled or Expired.
Coupon is not available for this storeThe coupon isn't published to the sales channel the shopper is on. See the note below.
Coupon is not yet activeThe current date is before the coupon's Start Date.
Coupon has expiredThe current date is past the coupon's End Date.
Coupon is not activeThe coupon's Status is Disabled or Expired.
Minimum order amount of … requiredThe cart subtotal is below the coupon's Min Order.
This coupon does not apply to any items in your cartThe coupon is restricted to specific products and none are in the cart.
You have already used this coupon the maximum number of timesThe shopper hit the coupon's per-customer limit.
Coupon usage limit reachedThe coupon's Total Uses cap is used up across all customers.
This coupon is not available in your regionThe coupon is region-restricted and the buyer is outside the allowed regions.

Publishing is not optional for vibe-coded storefronts. A coupon must be published to the sales channel the shopper is using, or it is rejected there outright with "Coupon is not available for this store", even though the code is perfectly valid everywhere else. Set this in the coupon's Publish to Platforms footer. (Loyalty-minted coupons, meaning reward redemptions, referral welcomes and birthday gifts, are customer-bound and skip this gate.)
